Summer: Once My Favorite Time of Year, But Not So Much Anymore

Summer with Multiple Sclerosis

By Penelope Conway

What can I say? Summertime is hot, muggy, sweltering, and sweaty. It used to be my favorite time of year for concerts in the park, trips to Six Flags to enjoy water rides and death defying trams that sent you into another universe altogether, cookouts, vacations, open windows with cool breezes blowing, family time, and relaxing by the pool. Summer Fun at the Drive-In

By Stacie Prada

As summer hits and pandemic-closed businesses open up in my area, it’s exciting to have my local drive-in theater open again. I hadn’t been to a drive-in movie in decades, because staying up late and watching from my car didn’t hold a lot of appeal for me. I’m now a convert. Finding Calm

By Lauren Kovacs

Minus some bad ideas, let’s cope with being stuck. Exploring new things can eat up time, no calories. I know the fridge and I are now best  friends.

Try to find ways to keep busy. Read, put yourself in a “show hole” by watching something or do some yoga.

I take my scooter out and one of my sons walks with me around our neighborhood. Fresh air and Vitamin D does a body good. Soon it will be hot enough Continue reading

If I wait for someday, I’ll miss now, and now may last a while. It’s unsettling to live with uncertainty and be required to change my normal routines. A lot of my routines have evolved over a long period of time to help keep me living as well as I do with multiple sclerosis. Uncertainty is a Continue reading
