Each year, we feature the work of artists affected by multiple sclerosis in our annual MSAA Art Showcase. We receive many wonderful submissions from across the country and are delighted to share the work of these artists and their inspirational stories with you, including highlighting one artist each month as our Artist of the Month. This month, we are proud to feature artist Karen Bloom of Kendallville, IN:
About the Artist – Karen Bloom
“Painting is my escape in many ways. Before my paralysis robbed me of my career, it helped me to leave the stress of a challenging job. After, it helped to distract me. Soon I realized that painting made me forget I was hurting, and boredom or pity parties didn’t stand a chance against my paint brush! I was about to have a grateful attitude for having the time to spend enjoying my God given talent instead of mourning what multiple sclerosis took from me.”
