MSAA strives to be a leading resource for the entire MS community by improving lives today through vital services and support. We could not accomplish this without the help of our volunteer board members. MSAA’s Board of Directors is comprised of accomplished professionals from across the country who volunteer their time to further MSAA’s mission. With our ongoing series, Meet the Board, we hope to introduce you to our wonderful volunteer board members!
This month, MSAA is proud to highlight our newest board member David Herzog.
Professional Background: David Herzog has been recognized by both Treasury & Risk Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in Finance, and Institutional Investor Magazine as one of the top CFOs in Insurance. Mr. Herzog served as the Group Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at AIG for more than seven years, before retiring in 2016. Prior to that, Mr. Herzog held several other executive positions, first at American General, and then at AIG. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a Fellow in the Life Office Management Association.
What inspired you to join MSAA’s Board of Directors?
“MSAA’s mission says it all – ‘Improving Lives Today.’ How could one not be inspired to join this mission? MSAA’s relentless efforts to provide MS patients and their families with the information and tools they need to better manage treatment are truly invaluable. Education and information are key to understanding this disease and addressing the anxiety that comes from the unknown. The tools, such as the cooling products and services, such as the MRI Access, make real positive differences in the lives of patients with MS and their families.”
What are your goals as an MSAA Board Member?
“My near-term goal as a new Board member is to learn how I can best support the outstanding MSAA Team of dedicated professionals and the Board, who are clearly mission-focused. Helping MSAA with time, treasure and talent are all important near-term goals of mine.”
Editor’s Note: MSAA is extremely proud and honored to enlist the support of David Herzog and all of our dedicated Board Members who volunteer their time, expertise, compassion, and leadership to help us achieve our mission of improving lives today for the entire MS community. We are very grateful for their service and look forward to their continued support as we strive to serve more people in more places than ever before. Thank you once again David!
