MSAA features the work of many talented artists affected by multiple sclerosis as part of our annual MSAA Art Showcase. Each month we share these artists’ inspiring stories and beautiful artwork with you as our Artist of the Month. This month, we celebrate April Palmer as April’s Artist of the Month. April is from Holstein, IA.

About the Artist – April Palmer
“I am currently living in Northwest Iowa, but I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I currently teach high school English and am in my 5th year of teaching. I have an older sister and a twin sister. I also have two nieces, two nephews, and a niece on the way!
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when I was 21. It was June of 2018 and right after I graduated college. I have definitely had to make adjustments in my life, but I am still able to enjoy my hobbies. Some of them include creating art, photography, reading and writing, and crocheting. I have also recently gotten into making quilts!”
