Karen Bloom – May 2024 Artist of the Month

MSAA features the work of many talented artists affected by multiple sclerosis as part of our annual MSAA Art Showcase. Each month we share these artists’ inspiring stories and beautiful artwork with you as our Artist of the Month. This month, we celebrate Karen Bloom as May’s Artist of the Month. Karen is from Kendallville, IN.

“The Sparrows”

About the Artist – Karen Bloom:

“When I lost the use of my legs to MS, I sold my piano and my paints, thinking that my hands and arms would be next. Three years later, I attempted painting in a group and found I was more than able to do it still. It became my best therapy, as I forgot my pain when I painted and got lost in the scenery that I completed. Nature is a gift from God, and I enjoy painting it and spending time outside with my service dog. Life in a wheelchair still provides me with high quality, independence, peace of mind, and soul.”
