Are you receiving rebates and subsidies to help pay down on your prescription medication? As a result of certain healthcare changes, this may now be in jeopardy. A recent change to health insurance coverage, known as the co-pay accumulator, may prevent you from applying prescription assistance programs toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. Not all prescription drugs are affected by co-pay accumulators. However, for the prescriptions that are impacted, the costs could increase significantly.
