Meet the Board – Kelly Waters

MSAA strives to be a leading resource for the MS community by improving lives today through vital services and support – and we could not accomplish this without the help of our volunteer board members. MSAA’s Board of Directors is comprised of accomplished professionals from across the country who volunteer their time to further MSAA’s mission. With our ongoing series, Meet the Board, we hope to introduce you to our wonderful volunteer board members!

This month, MSAA is proud to highlight our newest board member Kelly Waters, Esq.

Professional Background: Kelly Waters is a Partner in Wood Smith Henning & Berman’s New York office and Managing Partner of the firm’s New Jersey office. She serves as a Municipal Court Judge in the Townships of Union and Scotch Plains, New Jersey, and is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society. Ms. Waters is also one of the Founders of the Women of Action Luncheon and Fashion Show, which raises money to provide services for people diagnosed with MS.

What inspired you to join MSAA’s Board of Directors?

“For the past few years, I have been working in a volunteer capacity on the Women of Action Luncheon Committee. I have the utmost admiration for MSAA’s CEO Gina Murdoch and was impressed with her and her team’s direct positive impact in the lives of our friends who live with MS. As a national organization, I found the MSAA very effective in their outreach to our friends who live with MS and their families. For over 35 years I have been dedicated to the MS community and it is important to me to see that the monies raised are used in a fiscal and efficient manner so that our friends with MS receive the maximum benefit.”

What are your goals as an MSAA Board Member?

“My goals as an MSAA Board Member are to increase the amount of services and resources that we deliver to our friends with MS. I will look to bring in my colleagues across the country to be able to raise much need funds to support our MS families. Additionally, I want to be part of the conversation to support underserved populations with MS and ensure they have every possible way to connect with the MSAA Community and the resources we have available for them.”

Editor’s Note: MSAA is extremely proud and honored to enlist the support of Ms. Waters and all dedicated Board Members who volunteer their time, expertise, compassion, and leadership to help us achieve our mission of improving lives today for the entire MS community. We are very grateful for their service and look forward to their continued support as we strive to serve more people in more places than ever before. Thank you once again Kelly!
