Meet the Board – Michael Lubben

MSAA strives to be a leading resource for the MS community by improving lives today through vital services and support – and we could not accomplish this without the help of our volunteer board members. MSAA’s Board of Directors is comprised of accomplished professionals from across the country who volunteer their time to further MSAA’s mission. With our ongoing series, Meet the Board, we hope to introduce you to our wonderful volunteer board members!

This month, MSAA is proud to highlight our newest board member Michael Lubben.

Michael LubbenProfessional Background: Mike Lubben is the Director of Global Risk Management for Henry Crown and Company in Chicago, one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. Mr. Lubben has more than 30 years of experience in Risk Management and has been the President of several captive insurance companies and led the formation of others. He holds several industry designations and just recently, the team Mr. Lubben leads was chosen as one of four finalists by Business Insurance as “Risk Management Team of the Year.”

What inspired you to join MSAA’s Board of Directors?

“I worked very closely with a young woman with multiple sclerosis. Her determination to lead a life of normalcy to include professional aspirations while successfully leading a family as a single mom was inspiring. Her struggles with limited resources to help her in her daily life and seeing episodes where she simply couldn’t do what she wanted and needed to do was heartbreaking. The experience of having a friendship with a person of integrity and perseverance who is challenged by multiple sclerosis and not having the proper resources to provide some assistance inspired me to want to do more for others in the MS community.”

What are your goals as an MSAA Board Member?

“My goal is to be an impactful member of the board by contributing in any way I possibly can. I’m hopeful my unique experience in business and risk management can fill a gap to make the current board of impressive professionals even better.”

Editor’s Note: MSAA is extremely proud and honored to enlist the support of Mr. Lubben and all dedicated Board Members who volunteer their time, expertise, compassion, and leadership to help us achieve our mission of improving lives today for the entire MS community. We are very grateful for their service and look forward to their continued support as we strive to serve more people in more places than ever before. Thank you once again Michael!
