Unwind and Create: Find Your Calm Through Art

Finding balance in everyday life begins with recognizing what you need and giving yourself permission to prioritize it. Between daily responsibilities and the pressure to always be productive, it can be easy to overlook the signals your body sends when you need rest or a reset. Learning to listen to your body, set boundaries, and redefine productivity can help create space for your mental health and well-being. Sometimes, being productive means taking a step back, slowing down, and doing something just for yourself. Art can be one way to find that balance, offering an opportunity to unwind, express yourself, and reconnect with what brings you joy.

Whether you enjoy painting, drawing, photography, or digital art, making art can be a chance to slow down, express yourself, and focus on something that brings you joy. That is why the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) invites members of the MS community to participate in our annual Art Showcase!

MSAA’s digital Art Showcase celebrates the creativity, talent, and unique perspectives of individuals living with MS. It provides an opportunity for the community to share their artwork and connect with others while also highlighting this inspirational outlet of self-expression.

Submit Your Best Work

MSAA encourages participants to submit up to three pieces of their artwork digitally to appear in the 2027-2028 Art Showcase. Eligible mediums include paintings, drawings, digital artwork, photography, and various three-dimensional works that are submitted electronically. In addition to artwork, the following materials must also be completed:

  • Signed MSAA Digital Release Form
  • Verification of your MS diagnosis (please note that returning participants do not need to resubmit this item)
  • Brief biographical statement that speaks to your interest in art
  • Titles for each submitted art piece

Please be sure to read through MSAA’s Art Showcase rules and release form requirements prior to submitting your work. All requirements are to be fulfilled and submitted on MSAA’s website by January 8, 2027.

Eligible submissions will be highlighted on MSAA’s website beginning March 2027 in recognition of MS Awareness Month. Throughout the year, twelve artists and their artwork will be highlighted every month as our Artist of the Month.

As you find ways to create balance in your everyday life, consider making time for something creative and sharing your work with the MS community. Your story deserves to be told, and we invite you to do so with MSAA’s Art Showcase!
