The year was an unexpected one,

to say the very least,

it was unlike any we’ve had,

let’s just say 2020 was a beast.

The entire world changed,

experiencing much loss and sorrow,

all we can do is hold out hope,

and wish for a better tomorrow.

This time of year may look different,

with new traditions created,

but what stays the same is love and magic,

the meaning of the season we’ve awaited.

The holidays are a time of year,

where hopes and spirits are lifted,

generosity and kindness still live on,

and hope and peace are gifted.

Though it seems easier to focus on the dark,

another wicked 2020 ploy,

instead we can highlight the good moments,

to end the year – let’s choose joy.
