Living with multiple sclerosis (MS) can be very isolating. This condition often creates feelings of being disconnected from others and the world. Many feel the longing to belong and forge relationships as they could before their diagnosis.
Being forced to stay home and practice social distancing has been an interesting experience, to say the least. It is going to be 3 months that we have been staying at home, and I can tell you that now I have found about a million things in my house that need to be fixed, repaired, or just plain updated. Yes, I am being overly dramatic, but you get the point. This stay-at-home period has definitely inspired me to take on some lofty DIY (Do-It-Yourself) projects since we have limited options right now as to what we can do and where we can go. Having to practice social distancing is super crucial right now as the world fights to overcome the devastating effects of COVID-19. With that being said, social distancing means missing out on opportunities to connect with others face to face which can really put on downer on the day sometimes. After all, we are human beings and therefore we thrive on social interaction. So, how can we still connect with others while practicing social distancing?
